Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Mehmood Shah has strongly condemned the arrest of Chairperson Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Syeda Aasiya Andrabi and other party activists, saying that booking women under “false allegations” is a severe human rights violation.
“The struggle for Jammu Kashmir is purely indigenous. The pure blood of martyrs has driven this struggle, and the vicious plans of India cannot suppress the freedom struggle,” LeT spokesperson Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi Mehmood Shah as saying. The LeT chief said Dukhtaran-e-Millat represents Kashmiri women and it is a fundamental and just right of every Kashmiri to raise voice against New Delhi’s “occupation”. He said Aasiya Andrabi and other activists, by protesting for fundamental rights, have not committed any crime. They should be released at the earliest, he added.
“It is strange that while India is forcing the freedom fighters to lay down their weapons and at the same moment, is arresting Hurriyat leaders and spilling the blood of innocent youth. This deceit will not last longer. The counter attacks by Mujahideen and people’s support to them has frustrated Indian forces so much that they resorted into asking the freedom fighters to lay down their weapons,” Mehmood Shah said. “Reality is that India is seeking a safe exit from Jammu Kashmir. Be it under the disguise of fake promises of negotiations or the use of barbaric force by Indian forces, Delhi’s aim is to sabotage the indigenous freedom struggle of Kashmiris which is in its decisive stages.
The public, Hurriyat leaders and Mujahideen are on the same page which is evident from the statement of Indian Army Chief,” Let chief added. Mehmood Shah urged the human rights organizations to launch diplomatic efforts to force the Government of India to release Syeda Aasiya Andarabi and her party activists.
